Clothespin Animal Puppets


Clothespin animal puppets are a fun craft for kids looking to use their imagination in creating animals that can talk. Using only clothespins, glue, and their favorite animals, kids can make an inexpensive craft and put on a show for friends and family. 



  • Clothespins
  • Animal printouts 
  • Hot Glue gun (regular school glue works fine too)
  • Scissors
  • Markers
Materials for clothespin puppet craft project



1. First print out some of your favorite animals in black and white and begin cutting them out. (You can also use the animals provided above)  TIP: If using your own animals, be sure to make two of each animal with one of them flipped horizontally)

2. Once animals are cut out, color them in the colors of your choice!

3. After animals are completely colored, use the glue to attach each animal on either side of a clothespin. Be sure to fasten them securely!

And there you have it!
You now have your own clothespin animal puppets! To make them talk, pinch the clothespin and make the animals move up and down.
